Model Abigail Ratchford took the leap from P.A. to L.A. after her first, self-organized photo shoot attracted lots of attention—and agents. Saying goodbye to her mother, a child-care business owner, and father, a prosecutor, in her hometown of Scranton and moving to the City of Angels was a savvy move for this go-getter, who’s also an aspiring actress.
Abigail, who also goes by Abi, decided her 2013 resolution would be to lose weight. Feeling confident a few months in, she set up a photo shoot featuring her in red lingerie and Christian Louboutins. Things have been busy for Abigail ever since, leading up to a modeling contract for 138 Water, “the first fashion water,” and a brief appearance on the last season of NBC’s Parks and Recreation.
Abi specializes in lingerie and swimwear/sports modeling, but more acting and theater gigs seem like just what she’s looking for. “Although Abigail remains grateful for the exposure she received through social media, she expresses that she wants a career of substance and longevity that doesn’t rely on Internet success,” says the “About” page on her website. Maybe that’s why she keeps her videos so short. Abi posts 15-second behind-the-scenes, scantily clad, makeup- and dance-focused clips regularly—but hardly ever are they longer. Fans are kept waiting for more.
