Amanda Paige was Miss October 2005. This southern belle from Fayetteville, North Carolina, has English, German, and Swedish heritage. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in sociology.
Amanda came to Playboy in 2004—or rather, Playboy came to Amanda—when she was recruited for the Girls of the ACC pictorial. “I had never modeled before,” she said. “I never thought that my first shoot would be for Playboy.”
That first shoot would not be her last. She was named Coed of the Week, and when Hugh Hefner saw her picture, he made her Miss October 2005. Amanda also appeared on the cover of the September 2007 issue.
“Being a Playmate has been a great experience,” she said. “I really learned a lot.” Amanda lived in the Mansion for a while and appeared on three episodes of The Girls Next Door. Amanda put her Playmate earnings toward her education and enrolled at the University of Richmond to study entertainment law. When she’s not modeling or studying, Amanda loves hanging out at the beach and spending time with family and friends.
What does it take to impress an educated girl like Amanda? She told Playboy she goes for “intelligence, Southern accents, family-oriented guys, pretty eyes, a good smile, and someone who can make her laugh.” Her turnoffs include cheaters, arrogance, bad teeth, and guys without any goals in life. Amanda has no trouble meeting men. “Guys come up to me all the time,” she told Playboy. “It just happens.”
