James Bond is getting his cocktail shaker back out.
In the next 007 film, Spectre, Daniel Craig will drink martinis made with Belvedere, a luxury vodka from Poland. Charles Gibb, president of Belvedere, tells the New York Times that Belvedere is a natural fit with the character: “If you go back into [Ian] Fleming’s novels, Bond prefers Russian and Polish vodka,“ he says. In previous films Bond drank Smirnoff vodka, Finlandia vodka, Red Stripe beer, Heineken beer or Macallan whisky. This will be Belvedere’s first foray into movie product placement.
To celebrate the partnership, Belvedere is releasing two limited-edition bottles:
007 Silver Saber (above) - This metallic bottle comes with a built-in LED light system. It will go on sale next year.
MI6 (right) - This bottle features an etching of the M16 headquarters and includes words written in green ink, the color M16 officials use to sign documents. Belvedere is only making 100 of these bottles and will put them up for charity auctions.
Spectre will be released in November 2015.
