Whether you’re a comedy nerd, or a summer junkie, this is the perfect season to get your laugh on. There’s nothing better on a hot day than to wander to an unknown, hopefully air-conditioned location and dive deep into the comedy scene. For the sake of deep belly LOLs, here’s a list of 18 hilarious boss-ass comedians on the road this summer.
1. ILIZA SHLESINGER
With a brand new Netflix special, and quick, energetic sets, Iliza is well on her way to breaking wide open. And if you’re lucky, she may just close with the impersonation of the dwarfs that live in her head.
3. BETH STELLING
Beth Stelling is like a sweet pie with a tart filling. There’s very little to dislike about Beth, whose name has been buzzing in the comedy world. She’s got a special with Comedy Central in the works and has been touring internationally for the past few months.
4. ALI WONG
When Ali Wong gets on stage she straddles it, handles it and rides it — her sets are like a highball shot you chug down at a house party on a Friday night. The Northern California native is currently a writer on ABC’s hit sitcom Fresh of The Boat — so her comedy chops are bonafide.
5. HANNIBAL BURESS
Even before he called out Bill Cosby’s “issues,” Buress was well on his way to becoming a mainstream star, thanks to two previous stand-up albums, his recurring role on Comedy Central’s Broad City and his participation in The Roast of Justin Bieber.
6. NATASHA LEGGERO
Natasha Leggero is about to become America’s favorite sarcastic sweetheart, thanks to sets that are charming and unapologetic at the same time and her new show on Comedy Central, Another Period.
7. RON FUNCHES
Don’t let his lullabied voice tone mislead you, Funches’ jokes will get crazier as his set goes on. He’s also a member of the main cast of NBC’s Undateable along with Chris D’Ellia and Brent Morin.
8. FORTUNE FEIMSTER
Fortune Feimster is a lady from the south who got her start doing improv in Los Angeles. Right around the time her stand-up comedy took off she became a full-time writer for Chelsea Lately.
9. AHMED AHMED
Ahmed Ahmed is an Egyptian-American comedian and a regular at some of the most famous comedy clubs in Hollywood. If his inviting stage presence doesn’t suck you in, his silver fox adventures are bound to make you laugh.
10. GABRIEL IGLESIAS
“Not Fat but Fluffy” might be a Hispanic comedian, but he has a knack for making everyone laugh. His impersonation skills are nuts and his material has a wide range — no wonder he sells out almost every venue he plays.
12. CARMERON ESPOSITO
This Chicago native made her way to Los Angeles to pursue stand up and has since become a popular contributor to Buzzfeed, along with her fiancé, and has been featured on several Top Comedians of 2015 lists.
14. MARK NORMAND
This native New Yorker’s biased views on city life and Puerto Ricans have gotten him appearances on Conan, Inside Amy Schumer, and much more. He’s gigging across the country, from East Coast to West.
15. DAN ST. GERMAIN
It won’t be long before we find Dan St. Germain doing something huge with his career. So far he’s landed a half hour special on Comedy Central, two appearances on Conan and a whole lot of love among his fellow comedians. If you get to see him this summer, please touch his beard for me.
17. BRENT MORIN
Brent Morin just landed NBC’s new show Undateable opposite Ron Funches (see above) and Chris D’Ellia. If you want to feel better about some of your high school experiences and first jobs, he’s your man.
18. STEVE HOFSTETTER
If you’re an intellectual, you’ll love Steve’s sets: They’re smart, unapologetic and delivered with every intent to offend large crowds and people in power. He’s written for publications such as The New York Times and Sports Illustrated, he’s published three books, and he’s also the executive producer and host of Laughs on Fox. He also produces a weekly show at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood every Wednesday night; if you’re a local you’ve got no excuse.
