Here are the 2016 Grammy Nominations: Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd Lead the Pack

Here are the 2016 Grammy Nominations: Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd Lead the Pack:

Music’s biggest night may still be a few months away, but this morning, 15-time Grammy winner Alicia Keys took to CBS This Morning to announce the nominees in the major categories. Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the past year, the names will be familiar, the picks unsurprising. In fact, the nominations list reads like a playlist of songs you can’t get out of your head, with Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood,” Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud,” The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face,” Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk,” and D’Angelo and the Vanguard’s “Really Love” taking the Record of the Year category.

Also nominated is Kendrick Lamar’s album To Pimp A Butterfly. Lamar received the most nominations in the major categories this year, with 11 total. Taylor Swift and The Weeknd trail Lamar for most nods, each receiving seven award nominations. In order to be eligible for Grammy consideration, a song or album must have been released between October 1, 2014 and September 30, 2015, so we’ll just have to wait until next year to see Justin Bieber and Adele battle it out in a musical cage match. (With any luck, Bieber will unleash this move.)

The full list of nominees in major categories is below. The 58th Grammy awards will take place at L.A.’s Staples Center on February 15, and will air on CBS at 8 PM ET. The host has yet to be announced.
