As far as restaurant rankings/lists go, the annual “The World’s 50 Best Restaurants” is supposedly the ultimate guide to ridiculously good dining around the world. But each year it continues to drum up controversy, spouting debates about the real impact the list has on the restaurant business to how it’s just downright rigged.

According to Restaurant Magazine, a British food industry publication who started putting together the list in 2002, Spain’s El Celler de Can Roca took the top honor for 2015, bumping last year’s victor Noma in Denmark all the way to the No. 3 spot. Another Spain hot spot, Asador Etxebarri, moved up 21 places in the ranking.

There weren’t that many surprises to the list (as expected), but newcomers to the top 50 include Shanghai’s Ultra Violet and Moscow’s White Rabbit, getting Russia back on the list (I smell a bribe). And yeah, there’s only one American restaurant in the top 10, with New York’s Eleven Madison at No. 5, down 1 spot from last year. San Fransisco’s Coi didn’t make the cut this year, and neither did New York’s Daniel. Maybe next year U.S.A?
