If your city has the fairgrounds open year-round, and the happening spot to be on a Friday night is Fuddruckers … your city might not be one of the 50 fittest cities in America.

The American Fitness Index just released its 2015 report on the fittest cities in the United States, and though it’s not a contest, the West Coast is definitely dominating the competition.

Surprisingly, Washington D.C. was ranked as the fittest city in America, with Minneapolis coming in a close second, followed by San Diego, San Francisco and Sacramento to round out the top five.

So what how do they measure the fitness of a city is? Well, according to the AFI website, this is how:

The AFI data report reflects a composite of community indicators for preventive health behaviors, levels of chronic disease conditions, as well as community supports and policies for physical activity. In addition, demographic and economic diversity are included for each metropolitan area to illustrate the unique attributes of each city.

OK, so being the fittest city doesn’t mean you have a bunch of ripped humans walking around lifting cars, it just means that your city is dying slower than the others. So without further ado, here are the 50 fittest cities in America.
