8 Moments that Prove Marvel’s ‘Avengers’ Stars Are Massive Fanboys

8 Moments that Prove Marvel’s ‘Avengers’ Stars Are Massive Fanboys:

It is very, very easy to be cynical about actors promoting their movies on talk shows and press junkets and red carpets, because at the end of the day it is often just a bunch of pretty millionaires shilling for their corporate-owned blockbuster. Which is why, when a moment of genuine fun seems to happen, it can be all the more refreshing and enjoyable.

Over the last several years of making movies together, the cast of the Avengers films have become masters of making moments of genuine fun happen. They team up onscreen, and then in interviews they seem to genuinely enjoy each other’s company. They’re either actually best friends, or they’re all Oscar-caliber actors who are very good at pretending to like each other.

The Marvel movie stars have also proven on many occasions to be unapologetic fanboys, fawning over each other, other movie stars, and their favorite bits of nerdy pop culture. For proof of just how delightful they are, we gathered up some of the best fanboy moments from Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Tom Hiddleston and more.

CHRIS HEMSWORTH IS TOM HIDDLESTON’S BIGGEST FAN
When discussing Hiddleston’s rabid, Loki-obsessed fanbase, Hemsworth was quick to claim leadership of it.

“THAT WAS CHRIS PINE”
While promoting Captain America: Civil War at this year’s D23 Expo, Anthony Mackie and Chris Evans were distracted by a passing Chris Pine. They find him dreamy, too.

CHRIS EVANS LOVES HAN SOLO
While playing a game in which he was asked to erase either Han Solo or Indiana Jones from pop culture history, Evans got really passionate about the choice.

“IS THAT PAUL RUDD?”
Mark Ruffalo happened to be passing by a San Diego Comic-Con interview in progress, and when he realized the interviewee was Ant-Man star (and likely future Avenger) Paul Rudd, he got…a little excited.

MARK RUFFALO IS MOVED BY LOU FERRIGNO
The reigning Hulk, with a little help from Rudd, talks about his admiration for the past Hulk.

CHRIS EVANS CAN’T HANDLE CHRIS HEMSWORTH’S BOD
Evans is in incredible physical shape, but even he is humbled when standing next to The Mighty Thor.

CHRIS EVANS (AS PLAYED BY TOM HIDDLESTON) CAN’T HANDLE CHRIS HEMSWORTH’S BOD
Hiddleston is a gifted impressionist, and his go-to line for Evans mimicry is about Captain America’s fascination with Hemsworth’s mighty guns.

THE BICEP GAME
The Avengers look at photos of biceps and try to determine which of their co-stars they belong to. It’s kinda predictable, until everyone (particularly Evans) freaks out when they realize how ripped Robert Downey Jr. really is.
