No league likes to tinker with jerseys more than the NBA. In recent years, players have stepped out onto the hardwood in everything from jerseys with short sleeves to unis with their nicknames on them. And for the games on Christmas Day, the NBA and Adidas have created jerseys with players’ first names on them.
The jerseys that the Wizards, Knicks, Thunder, Spurs, Cavaliers, Heat, Lakers, Bulls, Clippers, and Warriors will wear also have the teams’ primary logo on the front instead of the team name or hometown.
It will be a little strange seeing LeBron James wear a jersey that just says “LeBron” on it. But there could be some interesting combos that come out of the change. With John Wall and Paul Pierce, the Wizards are just a Ringo and George away from assembling the Beatles. The switch is a little sad for one-named Washington center Nene though, since his jersey will look exactly the same.
