UPDATE: re/code is reporting that Anonymous has begun distributing “an extensive amount of personal information” including what it says are his home address, Social Security, birth certificate and phone numbers, via Pastebin. The info is being distributed online under the hashtag #OpTrump.
Hacker group Anonymous announced in a video posted to YouTube that it pledges to take on racist demagogue/presidential candidate Donald Trump.
“Dear Donald Trump, we have been watching you for a long time, and what we see is deeply disturbing,” an Anonymous representative says in the video, which was posted earlier this month.
The collective asks for help in bringing down TrumpChicago.com on April 1. The hackers also plan to target sites like donaldjtrump.com, trump.com and citizensfortrump.com.
“Your inconsistent and hateful campaign has not only shocked the United States of America—you have shocked the entire planet with your appalling actions and ideals,” the video continues. “You say what your current audience wants to hear, but in reality you don’t stand for anything except for your personal greed and power. This is a call to arms.”
According to Engadget, the collective posted unverified personal information about Trump and staff, including his Social Security number.
This isn’t the first time Anonymous declared war on Trump. It posted back in December with a similar message.
