Look, if you’re a pastor and you want to spew antigay messages, it’s probably best that you don’t also have a Grindr account.
According to Reverend Matthew Makela’s now deleted church bio, the pastor enjoys “family, music, home improvement, gardening and landscaping, and sports.” Weirdly enough, he didn’t list any of those pastimes on his Grindr account.
Up until recently, Reverend Matthew Makela was a pastor at St. John’s Lutheran Church and School in Midland, Mich. The pastor resigned after Queerty posted screenshots of Makela’s chat with an anonymous Grindr user.
In the screenshots, Makela tells a potential date, “I love making out naked. Oral and massage. And i top. Also love to cuddle.” On his now deleted public Facebook page had a post equating homosexuality to alcoholism. He also has some strange ideas about the transgender community:
The good Reverend Matthew Makela, who is married with five children by the way, also wanted everyone to know his views on the sanctity of marriage:
So family and marriage means a lot to the man, except when he’s on Grindr looking for some good cuddles.
It’s sad knowing that when this man spoke to the church’s fellowship, they listened. He’s helped create the next generation of people exactly like him. People who hate themselves because they were told that what they think and how they feel is wrong, so instead of accepting who they are, they attack those who are brave enough to accept themselves just the way they are.
