Since the inception of the smartphone, we’ve all been vehemently warned against capturing images our genitals and filming sexual acts on these devices. But do we listen? No.

It would seem that, when given a gift like the groundbreaking smartphone, we manage to ruin things by making them perverse. In fact, half of millennial men have copped to sending pictures of their penises. And that’s why a new app called Rumuki is now branding itself a “prenup” for sex tapes.

What the hell does that mean? It means that with the app, you and your partner (or whoever, for that matter) can film your sexual exploits without fear of somebody else getting their grubby hands on the material. Derived from the Japanese-to-English translation for “room key,” the app works by only allowing those involved in the video to view the content after it’s been captured. Once filming is done, you and the other consenting party will be given a passcode to view. If one of you wants to view the video, both parties will have to input your codes, which grants seven days of digital access. Because each device only has one key, the video is “as good as gone” when removed from either device.

Of course, this app can be used for things besides sex tapes, but keeping these intimate videos private seems like the most obvious motive, considering that as many as one in 25 Americans have either faced or been threatened with revenge porn. According to the app themselves, Rumuki doesn’t store any content shared or filmed on the app, which is currently only available on iOS; they also don’t require any personal information (like email or a social media account) so both you and your secret footage can remain totally anonymous.

For all intents and purposes, the app is still far from perfect. Despite describing itself as “the safest way to share your most intimate moments,” there are still considerable risks. For one, there’s nothing Rumuki can do if your partner chooses to turn on you after you’ve already given them access. Plus, according to the website, content can only be shared between two devices. Which begs the question: what if you filmed a threesome? Or hell, even a full-fledged orgy?

All we can hope for now is that the app continues to work on additional preventative measures concerning our most intimate moments. Because it appears that our desire to record and watch ourselves have sex far outweighs the implications of said footage getting leaked.
