In their last dispatch, Playmates Ashley Hobbs and Jordan Monroe explained what it was like to take an 80-mph speedboat run down a New Zealand river while master mixologists shook up cocktails on board. That's just one of the many challenges for the teams competing in the 42Below Cocktail World Cup, taking place this week in Queenstown, New Zealand. As the competition comes to a head, we asked Jordan and Ashley how everything has been going.
“Just the whole experience so far is amazing,” Jordan wrote. “Bungee jumping was definitely my favorite part so far, but the speed boat was pretty thrilling, too. One of Team Europe's mixologists liked me 'shaking' his shaker! Ha-ha! The whole trip and crew are a blast and it's definitely a trip that will be hard to beat.”
Judging by the photos, no doubt they’re living it up.
“Being in New Zealand has been a great opportunity and I was more than happy to be invited,” Ashley wrote. “Being a little scaredy cat, I am surprised I have tried so many adventurous things while being here. The surroundings and activities are amazing and I cannot get enough, from the bungee to the speed boat and the beautiful vineyard, I am astounded by everything and thankful to be here. But there is still more to come! The competition is close and one of the brand ambassadors said this is one of the closest competitions he has seen yet. It's been a very exciting week and there’s never been a dull moment, so I am lucky to say I am a part of this.”
