Amber Rose led her first SlutWalk in downtown Los Angeles this weekend, and by all accounts it was a success.

At the event, Rose got up in front of the crowd to give a speech, where she explained her motivation for hosting the walk. β€œI’ve decided to have this Slut Walk for women who have been through shit,β€œ Rose said. "Even though I am up here crying I want to be the strong person you all look up to and do apologize for all guys.”

Rose also took a moment to address the behavior of her ex, Kanye West. West had said in a February interview that he "had to take 30 showers before [he] got with Kim [Kardashian]” after dating Rose. For her part, Rose forgave him publicly on Saturday, saying: β€œI want to forgive Kanye for what he said about me. I want to let all of that negativity go.”

The walk β€” one of many similar events across the globe β€” helped promote the message that a woman’s appearance should not be cause for blame should she become a victim of sexual assault.

This is the sign Rose’s mother marched with:

Rose also posted a photo of a girl holding this sign, which captures the walk’s sentiment:

And, of course, the march’s leader held up a sign of her own.
