London Cocktail Bar Has Pop-Up Menu: Toby Summerskill

While typical pop-up books are splattered with Gerber, a new British pop-up book is sure to be soiled with gin.

The Beaufort Bar in London’s Savoy hotel has released a 3-D, pop-up cocktail menu complete with colorful interpretations of its mixed drinks. Some of the paper cut-outs are literal: The pomelo gimlet includes a long-stemmed glass wrapped in citrus branches. Others are more playful: The Never Ending Story, an absinthe drink inspired by Ernest Hemingway, includes a cigar, a copy of The Old Man And The Sea and a portrait of the author sipping the cocktail.

The book was designed by illustrators Helen Friel and Joe Wilson and photographed by Toby Summerskill. Only 1,000 copies of the menu were made; buy one while you can at Savoy’s gift shop.
