Become the Scourge of the Wasteland in the Next ‘Fallout 4’ Add-on

Become the Scourge of the Wasteland in the Next ‘Fallout 4’ Add-on:

If you’ve played Fallout 4, you’ve dealt with them: Raiders. The Mad Max extras who populate the Wasteland, shooting everyone they come across without so much as a “give me all your stuff” beforehand. Up to now, Fallout 4 players have been forced by the game to be, for the most part, good guys. Sounds like that’s about to change.

In the next big content add-on for Fallout 4, “Nuka-World,” developer Bethesda is including what sounds like a whole new “faction” for players to join, in addition to the new theme park area to explore. According to the official description of the game, you’ll be able to join up with the raiders and even attack and conquer peaceful settlements—like computer-controlled raiders do now.

Here’s the description from the digital PC game portal Steam page for “Nuka-World”:

Take a trip to Nuka-World, a vast amusement park now a lawless city of Raiders. Explore an all-new region with an open wasteland and park zones like Safari Adventure, Dry Rock Gulch, Kiddie Kingdom, and the Galactic Zone. Lead lethal gangs of Raiders and use them to conquer settlements, bending the Commonwealth to your will. Nuka-World features new quests, Raiders, weapons, creatures, and more. Enjoy the ride!

That comes after the announcement of the smaller “Vault-Tec” add-on that’ll let players construct their own underground shelters like the one players start in at the beginning of the game. You can even play “Overseer” of the Vault, and perform experiments on the people you coax to come live there. That’s a running gag in the Fallout series and now players get to be a part of it.

So in general it sounds like Bethesda is taking Fallout 4 in a more generally (and probably hilariously) evil direction. Coupled with the ability to build fight arenas complete with scary monsters, it sounds like players can finally live out all their Thunderdome fantasies.
