On the surface, ice cream and beer may seem like a weird combination, and thus the new marriage of Ben & Jerry’s and New Belgium appears to be an odd coupling. We happen to welcome our new craft ice cream and beer overlords, because we’ve previously combined the two to outstanding effect, with our Siberian Stout Float. So these titans of their respective industries doing all the hard work of mixing their wares instead of us, we applaud it.
Now, we’re not getting floats here, sadly. Instead, according to Beer Street Journal, we’ll get Salted Caramel Brownie Brown Ale. It’s a “brown ale laden with the chocolatey, salted-caramel, vanilla goodness,” says Jay Curley, Ben & Jerry’s senior global marketing manager. The beer will come in 22 oz. bottles and will raise awareness for Protect Our Winters, an organization led by winter sports athletes who are combating climate change.
