Bernie Sanders is straight up killing it in at least one poll: TIME Magazine’s “Person of the Year.” The Democratic presidential candidate is currently beating out Barack Obama (2012 recipient), Pope Francis (2013 recipient), and Adele. The title reflects the person who “most affected the news and our lives, for good or ill, and embodied what was important about the year.” Last year, the title went to Ebola fighters. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton is currently losing to Nicki Minaj, Amy Schumer and Vladimir Putin.
Ultimately, the decision comes down to TIME’s editors, but they look to readers to see what the national consensus is to some degree. You can vote here.
