One of two dining cars on our list, The Dining Car & Market is a well-known Philly attraction. Built by the Swingle Diner Co. in New Jersey and hauled to its current location on Philadelphia’s northeast side nearly 30 years ago, this silver-and-black, art Deco-themed diner also houses a successful bakery and market. The Dining Car only has 12 stools, but this provides more space for the 50 booths and tables, allowing the entire grub train a capacity of 260. The chicken croquettes and Jewish apple cake are among Philadelphia’s best. ![]() ![]() Mar 19, 2010
