Open all day, every day since 1924, former Mayor Richard Riordan loved the Pantry so much that he bought the diner in order to save it from demolition. Today the Pantry is dwarfed by the shadows of the Staples Center and other markers of downtown Los Angeles, but it serves up to 3,000 people every day, lending credence to Riordan’s motto for the Pantry: “We never close. We’re never without a customer.” ![]() ![]() Mar 18, 2010
