It takes two weeks of intense training and several months of tastings to work at Trece. Bartenders here are required to personally test all 124 bottled tequilas and the four it serves on tap so they know the difference between a $20 shot and a $200 one. Managing Director Lance Bodwell says beginners who want a deeper education into tequila should start with a shot of Riazul Anejo. “It’s been aged for two years in old cognac barrels,” he explains. “It has hints of vanilla, caramel and cinnamon, so it tastes almost like a dessert.” ![]() ![]() Mar 16, 2010
