The AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is running a billboard campaign in Los Angeles accusing the popular dating apps Tinder and Grindr of helping to spread sexually transmitted diseases.

The billboards, one of which is located just blocks from Tinder’s headquarters, imply users of the apps are at risk for catching chlamydia and gonorrhea. The sign also prominently displays the web address for “FreeSTDCheck.org.” Anyone who visits the URL is greeted with a picture of the billboard, a link to a recent Vanity Fair article about dating apps, and information on where to find free, local STD testing.

An official statement regarding the billboards has yet to be posted by either of the companies. However, according to CBS Los Angeles, Tinder is less than thrilled about the negative PR its receiving, and has sent AHF a cease and desist letter demanding the signs be taken down.

Somewhere, the CEO of FarmersOnly.com is mentally preparing for “hoof-and-mouth disease” billboards.
