This might be your last chance to hop into a multiplayer game of Destiny and exploit a bug that lets you potentially cook an unlimited number of other Guardians with explosive destruction.
Thanks to a glitch, Destiny players have found a very specific way to fill their rocket launchers with an unlimited number of explosive shells—and that’s a major problem for competition in the game. Normally “heavy ammo” like rockets is rare and limited, but thanks to the bug, players are going on tears with 50 rockets in their magazines instead of two or three.
It’s enough of an issue that developer Bungie has taken to postponing two of its biggest and most popular multiplayer events, the Iron Banner and the Trials of Osiris, as announced on Bungie.net:
When we learned that some Guardians had discovered a way to earn unlimited rockets, we knew it was time for a bug hunt. Rather than punish players for playing the game in a way we didn’t predict, we’ve been waging an investigation into our code. These things happen, so please don’t panic. We’re on the case—and we’ve slayed more dreaded bugs than these.
It’s a bummer that Trials is canceled, but it makes sense since both game types get pretty intense. For players who care about competition, an unending flood of rockets in their faces is likely to encourage them to snap a Destiny disc over their knees.
