Looking at the comedy landscape in 2015, it’s quite clear that the big winner was Amy Schumer, but Broad City creators Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer weren’t far behind. Their stars are rising fast, and Glazer is kicking off 2016 with a project that fans of Broad City’s frequent weed-infused moments are sure to love: Time Traveling Bong. And yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like.
Comedy Central announced Wednesday that, in addition to renewing Broad City for two more seasons (Season 3 arrives next month), they’ve also commissioned the limited series Time Traveling Bong from Glazer and Broad City writers Paul W. Downs and Lucia Anello. The series is, presumably, based on the short of the same name created by Glazer and Downs for College Humor in 2012.
The series will star Glazer and Downs as two friends who come into possession of a bong that allows you to travel through time if you say the year you’d like to travel to and then take a hit (like I said, exactly what it sounds like). The three-part event will air for three consecutive nights beginning, appropriately, on April 20. So, set a calendar reminder right now, because we all know you’ll be too damn high to remember it when the time comes.
Broad City returns February 17.
