The phrase “American hero” gets thrown around too easily, especially in an election year. But Buzz Aldrin truly deserves the accolade. The American astronaut, who was the second man to walk on the moon as part of the Apollo 11 mission, shows no signs of slowing down at age 86. And his spirit of exploration is still strong. While attending the Olympics in Rio, Aldrin tweeted a photo of himself working on an Omega watch designed to go to Mars.

Aldrin has been outspoken in his support of a manned mission to Mars, penning an op-ed in The New York Times in 2013. The #GYATM hashtag in Aldrin’s tweet stands for “Get Your Ass To Mars.” Now he seems to be focused on the equipment that will be used to get there.

Aldrin wore an Omega Speedmaster during his trip to space, so a new iteration of that watch could be the subject of his sketches. It is tough to decipher much based on the images in his tweet, which we assume is very intentional. But you can tell from the pictures that Aldrin has good taste in man jewelry, so hopefully those stylish sensibilities will translate into this Omega watch.
