With all the amazing hairstyles available to guys right now, many men are still resorting to the scourge that is the man bun. Now one university is fighting back. According to Boise Weekly, Brigham Young University-Idaho has banned the man bun, also known as a topknot, on campus.

The BYU-Idaho honor code states that men’s hair should be “clean and neat, avoiding extreme styles of colors and trimmed above the collar leaving the ear uncovered.” School officials have decided that the man bun falls into the “extreme” category, and will discipline any scofflaws who disregard the directive.

While the school should be admired for taking a stand with its man bun ban (try saying that five times fast) and preventing a hairstyle that, oh, by the way make you go bald, we cringe at the thought of students thinking they are “fighting the power” by wearing a topknot. Such rebellion may be the worst form of slacktivism yet.
