Cameron Diaz’s IMDB page has been unusually quiet lately. The latest entries are a voice role on the kids’ show Yo Gabba Gabba! from 2015, and her performance as Miss Hannigan in the 2014 remake of the movie Annie. A few years back, she was one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood, so why doesn’t she have any recent projects? And why haven’t any future projects been announced?
On a panel discussion moderated by Gwyneth Paltrow at the recent Goop Wellness Summit, Diaz revealed that she needed a break from traveling nonstop from film set to film set. “I just went, ‘I can’t really say who I am to myself.’ Which is a hard thing to face up to. I felt the need to make myself whole.”
The 44-year-old actress also discussed her marriage to musician Benji Madden in 2015, saying “We are so different from one another, but we share the same values—we’re totally two peas in a pod. We are both just weird enough for each other.”
In a Playboy interview back in 2010, Diaz said, “I’m starting to fantasize about how I want to spend my time with family and friends.” It sounds like she’s finally making that fantasy come true.
