Facetime with Cassandra Dawn:

At 21, Cassandra Dawn isn’t exactly sure what career path she’d like to pursue. But she has a handful of options: photography, singing and psychology are some of her interests. We caught up with Cassandra for our latest installment of Facetime. Be sure to check out her Cyber Girl Xtra pictorial.

Johnathan D. Owens: Are you happy where your life has taken you and is there another path you want to take?Cassandra: I am really happy with where life has taken me. I feel that with each year that passes I’m given the opportunity to do more things. One thing that I’d really like to get into is photography. It’s something I’ve been interested in since I was a little girl but I’ve always been too intimidated to really pursue it. I’ve been spending a lot of time at this photography studio called Smashbox Studio and I learned a lot there just about how the business works.

Pete Lang: Who is your favorite Playmate?Cassandra: I have a few, actually. I’d say Racquel Gibson, Heather Rae Young, Amy Leigh Andrews, Lindsey Evans. I like Jaime Edmondson a lot and Tamara Sky. There’s a lot. Those are the ones I’m closest friends with but they’re also my favorite because they’re so sweet from the inside and out. A few more are Monica Leigh, Ashley Mattingly and Francesca Frigo. I think [Francesca’s] so stunning.

Ason Dance: What are your favorite hobbies and interests?Cassandra: I love shopping. I also like to do pilates. I love to read—literature has been a big part of my life since I was a little girl. Right now I’m reading Lolita and it’s a bit strange. I also like to flip through fashion magazines just to look at the photography. I like blogging, too. And I enjoy staying healthy and keeping fit because it takes work.

Derik Smith: What’s your perfect date like?Cassandra: I’m a really simple girl. When it comes to love and courtship, the simple things are what make me happy. When people do extravagant things I think they might be compensating for something. But I like it when a guy cooks for me. And if they give me a back massage and if we just have wine together and maybe just watch a movie—that is the most perfect date for me. When you really like someone you actually want to spend time getting to know them. I’ve found that other dates that are really extravagant can be very distracting and can take away from getting to know the person that you’re with.

Andrea Lugar: Why did you choose to pose for Playboy and how did you get started?Cassandra: I chose to pose for Playboy because when I was five years old I came across a Playboy issue and I thought to myself there’s no way I would ever have a chance to model like that or look like that. I didn’t think I could ever look womanly enough. Then when I was 19 years old I was approached about doing the Playboy TV show Playboy Shootout, which was a modeling competition. I did the show and after that I tested for Playmate. I didn’t get approved but I ended up becoming a Cyber Girl and a lot of opportunities to do Special Editions and Cyber came my way.

Lochinvar Peralta II: Where do you see yourself in five to 10 years?Cassandra: Hopefully I will have established a career of some sort. I’m also into student psychology so hopefully I’ll be in school studying that. I’d like to be married and in 10 years have a family. But in five years I’d like to be happily in love and be in a stable place in my life where I know what I want because right now, being 21, life is so transitional for me. I have no idea what I want. I have a lot of different interests. Hopefully when I’m 26 everything will be more clear. And hopefully I’ll be doing a lot more with music.

Derrick Gentry: If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be and why?Cassandra: I would say there are two places I’d like to live. I’ve never been to Thailand but I’d really like to go there. It seems like the Thai culture is really serene and loving. Then there’s another part of me that would like to live in a city in Italy because it seems really romantic.

BJ Johnson: If you had one super power what would it be?Cassandra: I would say reading people’s minds. I like to know people’s intentions before getting into something, whether it might be friendship or work or relationships.

Joe Zazueta: What’s your biggest regret?Cassandra: One of my biggest regrets is not acting in a completely appreciative, respectful way when I was in a past relationship. I feel like I could have been a better person to the one I loved but I was so young that I didn’t know what I wanted yet and I was really confused about a lot of things. If there’s one thing I could change it would be to treat him with all the love I really felt for him. I regret that because he really deserved it.

Ben Ferris: What is your biggest pet peeve?Cassandra: I have a few. I’m so particular it might seem strange. One is monotonous voices. I feel like it’s important as a person, socially, to speak with vocal inflection because it can be really boring talking to someone who speaks flat. It makes me want to end the conversation, especially on the phone. Another pet peeve is when a guy isn’t being a gentleman. I feel that being a gentleman isn’t something that can be taught. You have to be brought up to have respect for women or carry yourself a certain way. Another is when I’m dating someone and they talk about other women. If you want a girl to feel safe with you or potentially fall in love with you or ever take you seriously, you need to make her feel like the only girl in the world.

Scott Simpson: What’s your favorite type of music?Cassandra: I love acoustic rock and pop rock. I play guitar, which is another one of my hobbies, and singing. I’ve been singing since I was four. I like Sara Bareilles and I also like Missy Higgins, KT Tunstall and Colbie Caillat.
