Still almost a week away, the buzz of the Geneva International Auto Show has begun. But while other manufacturers offer up teasers and renderings, British supercar builder McLaren has opted to completely pull the wraps off its latest offering. Say hello to the 675LT, a 666 bhp lightweight coupe, which will rocket drivers from 0-60 mph in a mere 2.9 seconds.
The latest of ‘Longtail’ McLarens, the 675LT has dropped to a fighting weight 220 lbs. lower than its predecessor, making it the lightest offering in its class. In terms that even non car-types can appreciate, its power-to-weight ratio assures that each horse generated by the twin turbo V8 only has to push about four lbs. of weight.
Built with extensive carbon fiber construction, the 675LT is an aggressively track-prepped car, but is 100 percent street legal. And though the car’s Alcantara-trimmed cabin skews toward a ‘slim-fit’ cut, its gentlemanly style is perfectly suited for a driver, plus a special someone.
McLaren will officially debut the 675LT on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in Geneva.
