We’re now just two weeks away from the debut of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and expectations are high. Colbert is an established late night presence, and he’s filling the massive shoes of David Letterman, so he really needs to bring it right out of the gate. Now, we know which guests will help him out in his first week.
Colbert’s Late Show will lead off with Letterman’s pal and late night mainstay George Clooney, plus presidential candidate Jeb Bush, on September 8, but we already knew that. Now, we know what’s to come for the rest of the week.
On September 9, Scarlett Johansson, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and musical guest Kendrick Lamar will hit the show. On September 10, Colbert will be joined by Uber CEO Travis Kalanick and musical guest Toby Keith. Then on Friday September 11, to close out his week, Colbert will welcome Amy Schumer, Fellow Stephen Legend Stephen King, and musical guest Troubled Waters.
It’s a solid, and appropriately varied, lineup. In his first week, Colbert will rub elbows with everyone from politicians to authors to comedians to some of the hottest musical acts out there. Now, we just have to see how he’ll do as a host when he’s not in full Colbert Report character.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert premieres Tuesday, September 8 at 11:30 p.m. Eastern on CBS.
