What’s Coming and Going On Netflix in March

What’s Coming and Going On Netflix in March:

Prepare for some trouble, parents: after what appeared to be a last-minute reprieve for Hasbro’s animated series — most notably My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and let’s not pretend that there aren’t one of two of you out there watching that yourselves — it appears that they really might be about to disappear in the middle of March after all. On the plus side, if that happens, there’s always the sight of RZA kicking butt to distract them.

MY OWN MAN
For every man that’s ever had doubts about whether or not he’ll make a good father, here’s a documentary just for you: Filmmaker David Sampliner attempts to embrace masculinity ahead of the birth of his first child via a series of tasks that all lead back to the same place: his problematic relationship with his own father. Personal, touching and also just a little bit ridiculous at times, it’s something that will likely resonate with a lot of dads out there. (Debuts March 6)

UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT
Originally planned as an NBC sitcom to follow the success of 30 Rock, the new sitcom from Tina Fey and Robert Carlock features the same brand of over-the-top social satire and fast-cut comedy (not to mention some of the same cast: Hello, Jane Krakowski), but with an added bonus: Ellie Kemper, who brings a manic energy that’s surprisingly charming as the guileless former cult member not loose in the big city. (Debuts March 6)

AZIZ ANSARI: LIVE AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN
Parks & Recreation might be over, but Tommy lives on — or at least, the actor behind Tommy does with this concert movie shot during his sell-out shows at MSG last year in which he covered everything from gender inequality to bad food. All that would make it more enjoyable would be a guest-spot from Retta, but we can’t have everything we want (yet). (Debuts March 6)

BLOODLINE
So far, Netflix’s original series have tackled the following dark underbellies of Americana: politics (House of Cards), penal systems (Orange is the New Black) and haunted houses (Hemlock Grove). Now, it’s turning its attention to American families with this new drama starring Friday Night Lights’ Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler), Carrie herself (Sissy Spacek) and Linda Cardellini, and created by Damages co-creators Todd Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler. Expect dark secrets to be revealed. (Debuts March 20)

THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS
Just in case you were concerned that another March might pass without you having the chance to indulge your dual craving for Wu-Tang movies and martial arts madness, here’s some welcome news: RZA’s over-the-top homage to the martial arts movies of his youth — starring Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, Dave Bautista and RZA himself — will soon be available to watch whenever you want. If you think it sounds ridiculous, let me assure you: you have no idea the wonder that awaits you.
