The Maldives islands is one of the most tropical places you can go to in the Indian and Arabian ocean. So ditch the beach villa and opt for the all-glass, underwater restaurant and private suite at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island. With a depth of 16 feet and set at $815 a night, you’ll be pretty damn close to every exotic sea animal imaginable. If you’re into that sorta thing.

UTTER INN

UTTER INN
Västerås, Sweden, privateislandsonline.com
If you’re on a budget in Sweden, check out artist and sculptor Mikael Genberg’s crazy underwater hotel concoction dubbed “Utter Inn”. The hotel at first appears as just a typical Swedish-style mini house on the water, but then the bottom transforms into a reverse fishbowl. The 80 square-foot, single-room property is a bit on the quaint side, but it’s a pretty dope way to experience Sweden. And if you’re worried about sharks, the only fish you’ll be next to are pike and perch.

MANTA RESORT

THE MANTA RESORT, PEMBA ISLAND
Zanzibar, Africa, themantaresort.com
The turquoise waters of Zanzibar never looked cooler. With a top deck perfect for sunbathing and general drinking debauchery (because, duh), a second floor with a dining/living area and a “basement” that lets you sleep with the fishes, this is the ultimate hot spot. Coming in at $1,500 night for two, this would easily make your Instagram followers insanely jealous.

You’ll feel like you’re checking into another world at the Atlantis The Palm in Dubai, one of the coolest hotels in the region with a cool underwater suite. You’ll even be surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass walls while you take a bath. Weird? Maybe.

THE WATER DISCUS HOTEL

It’s no surprise Dubai is trying to be at the forefront of luxury underwater hotels since it is arguably one of the luxury capitals of the world, and its Water Discus Hotel is like Star Trek meets alien UFOs. Polish company Deep Ocean Technology hopes its future guests will be able to sleep under the waters of the Persian Gulf, but don’t try and book just yet. It’s still in the design phase.

JULES’ UNDERSEA LODGE
Key Largo, Florida, jul.com
Chill underwater with your friends and get a pizza delivered at the same damn time. This is one of the many perks at Jules’ Undersea Lodge in Key Largo, Florida. But the only way to get to the two-bedroom guesthouse is by diving to the wet-room hatch. You know, the same place where your pizza will be delivered later.
