During last night’s NCAA FBS National Championship game, the TV cameras were focusing on the people standing on the field. The Internet, however, was far more interested in various activities happening on the sideline, with particular emphasis on one Oregon Ducks cheerleading coach.

The whole situation began with Arizona Cardinals defensive end Darnell Dockett posted this photo on his Twitter account:

The Twitterverse went wild trying to figure out the identity of this woman. After many suspects came into the picture and were cleared, it was revealed that the woman in question was actually former Oregon cheerleading coach and former NBA cheerleader Corine Lewis.

As you can see, the photo was earlier posted in November on Lewis’s Twitter account, not during the title game. And since Lewis is a former Ducks coach, the pic is probably older than that.

But, hey, now she’s famous. So who is she? Besides working as a cheerleading coach and choreographer, Corine also hosts and produces a TV series called Life Beyond the League and is set to launch a new show this year called The Producer.

The Internet-fueled emergence of Corine Lewis is just another reason to be happy Oregon kicked Florida State’s butt to make it to the title game.
