With apple season upon us, many of us are gearing up for warm apple doughnuts with a large glass of apple cider. However, this British shopper discovered something in her carton of Tesco apple juice that was far from the delicious fall treat many of us love.
Instead of a refreshing beverage, Lorna Fisher and her boyfriend discovered a slimy, alien-like creature in the bottom of their carton. What’s worse? They drank the entire carton before they realized something was wrong and opened the carton to find the source of the problem.
It looked a bit funny when we poured it out but my boyfriend reckoned it was just cloudy because we hadn’t shaken it. Then we drank it. It was completely horrible. It tasted rancid, like off cider. Straight away I went and cut the box open and there was this thing that just looked like an alien at the bottom. It made me feel sick just looking at it, knowing that we’d just drank some. It was well within date too. I won’t be buying that drink again!
Later, she complained to the company on Facebook. The company apologized and even offered to compensate her.
However, that wasn’t enough for Lorna since the low cost of the beverage wouldn’t be enough to “fix the psychological damage.”
Even though we’re still not 100 percent what the slimy blob was, it was more than likely mold since apple juice forms disgusting, slimy substance when it’s old. Unfortunately, this isn’t too comforting considering the juice was within the sell-by date.
Our suggestion: Be careful what you’re drinking when it comes to apple season this year. You don’t want to drink something disgusting like this couple did, trust us.
