Chinese authorities have detained four people for their connection with a sex tape allegedly filmed in a Bejing-area Uniqlo store. The video, taken on a cell phone inside one of the Japanese retailer’s fitting rooms, spread rapidly online before it was brought to the government’s attention.

The 19-year-old man in the video was detained along with several others on suspicion of spreading obscene content—a charge that can carry a sentence of up to two years imprisonment in China. According to the official Xinhua News Agency, those who make obscene products for profit face a maximum sentence of life in prison.

A police statement reportedly said the couple confessed to sending the video to a friend after it was recorded in April. They believe their friend then uploaded it to the mobile app WeChat, where it eventually made its way to popular Chinese microblogging site Sina Weibo.
