Ron Perlman’s no stranger to playing dark characters, from Beauty and the Beast to Hellboy to Sons of Anarchy. But his latest may be his beastliest, most hellish and anarchic character ever: He stars as a judge who suffers a psychological breakdown after his daughter-in-law is raped and his son attempts suicide and believes God is telling him to mete out vigilante justice. Perlman’s supported by a stellar ensemble, including Dana Delany as his wife, Justified’s Garret Dilahunt as his henchman, and The Wire’s Andre Royo as his best friend, the Mayor. With such a top-notch cast, Hand of God is nothing short of divine.

Seth Meyers’ animated superhero spoof returns with Prock (voiced by Meyers) facing off against his own father, Mr. Awesome (voiced by Steve Higgins, aka Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show announcer), who has been infected with evil serum by the super villain Dr. Malocchio (Bill Hader) and decides to run for President. Other familiar voices include SNL’s Kenan Thompson, Cecily Strong, Maya Rudolph, Amy Poehler, and Taran Killam; Mad TV alums Ike Barinholtz, Bobby Lee and Josh Meyers (Seth’s brother), and Difficult People’s Billy Eichner.

Not to be confused with the shoes (those would be Doc Martens), this British dramedy stars Martin Clunes (Shakespeare in Love) as an arrogant, egotistical physician who lives and works in the seaside town of Cornwall. With his marriage to Louisa (Caroline Catz) on the rocks, Doc tries to heal himself with the help of a therapist, as well as his Aunt Ruth (Dame Eileen Atkins). And if you’re not up to speed with Doc Martin, fear not: Acorn TV also streams the series’ first six seasons.

If the current presidential campaign hasn’t provided you with enough entertainment, check out CBS’ drama about Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni), a U.Va. professor who’s recruited by the President (Keith Carradine) to serve as his Secretary of State. The cast also includes Bebe Neuwirth as McCord’s top aide and Tim Daly as her religious-professor husband. No word yet on whether this Madam Secretary uses her personal email account for government business.

6 YEARS (Netflix)
A pair of up-and-coming actors — Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story and Vera’s little sis) and Ben Rosenfield (who played Nucky Thompson’s gangster-wannabe nephew in Boardwalk Empire) — costar in this romantic drama produced by mumblecore moguls Mark and Jay Duplass. They play college students who endure romantic turmoil as they approach their sixth anniversary as a couple (hence the title). It’s like The Seven Year Itch, but one less.
