For “Homegrown Honey,” Darius Rucker’s latest single, the singer who shall forever be known by legions as “Hootie,” channels his inner Vince Vaughn by digging up a catchphrase the actor made famous eighteen years ago in Swingers.

Thanks to Vaughn’s prototypical hipster ethos and infectious charisma, the phrase caught on for a few years. But, as Rucker’s campy chorus makes readily and painfully apparent, “You’re so money” has not aged well. Rucker, on the other hand, appears slim and upbeat, gleefully singing the enthusiastic, if terribly trite and goofy praises of a young lady decamped to New York City who still reminds him of home – even if she looks like Kate Upton.
