There are claims by some corners of the internet that a “sea monster” has been spotted near Deception Island in the Southern Shetlands thanks to the powerful eyes of Google Earth. With glimpses of a fin and a size that would dwarf most every other beast in the ocean, some are calling this a real-life Loch Ness monster, or wondering if it’s some type of underwater submarine.
Scott Waring of paranormal activity spotting news site UFO Daily believes we could be getting our first glimpses at a real life sea monster.
“This looks like The Kraken. I used Google ruler and it says this is 30 meters (100 feet) from head to end, but the end looks just like the mid area of a giant squid which means it could be 60+ meters long with tentacles. That sounds like a Kraken to me.“
However, scientists and marine biologists have a different explanation: this is probably just a large sea animal, more than likely a blue whale. That said, there’s no reason to stop believing in Nessie, and who knows? Maybe we’re seeing this images because she decided to spend some time at her summer home in the Shetlands.
