If there was a Grammy category for Best Performance in an Instagram Video, it would certainly go to DJ Khaled, who celebrated his actual Grammy nomination—Best Rap Album of the Year for Major Key—with some of the best father-son wisdom ever shared on social media.

“Son, I love you so much. I know you brought me all my blessings, all my blessings,” Khaled tells his son Asahd in the video, before adding, “Today, we got nominated for the album of the year at the Grammys—best rap album of the year.” He then goes on to say that those who doubted that he could even make an album were “playing themselves,” as all fathers tell their sons.
Anyone who’s followed Khaled’s Instagram posts knows that he’s a genius at sharing pearls of wisdom…
And let’s not forget that time he got lost while riding a jetski.
Khaled’s son is no stranger to social media, either. In October, the rapper broadcast the child’s birth on Snapchat, explaining recently that he did so to “put love into the universe,” even if his fiancée wasn’t too thrilled about it. Perhaps the Grammy should go to her, for Most Patient Partner of a Social Media Superstar.
