Sneaker endorsement deals used to be reserved for athletes. Then they extended to hip hop artists, followed by high fashion designers. Well now, Eddie Huang is making the case that chefs deserve signature sneakers as well.

Huang, of course, is much more than a chef. In addition to founding the New York City restaurant BaoHaus, which specializes in the Taiwanese buns known as baos, he’s the host of the Viceland show Huang’s World and the author of two books, one of which was adapted into the ABC sitcom Fresh Off The Boat, with which he has had a rocky relationship.

But back to the kicks. Huang posted two photos on Instagram to tease his collaboration with Adidas. One image shows Huang in his signature bathrobe wearing a pair of Adidas slide sandals while holding a pair of Adidas Superstars on a platter with the caption, “‘YEA YEA I DESIGN THESE THINGS AND U KNOW IM IN THE HOOD LIKE CHINESE WINGS’ - Jadakiss @adidasoriginals x #HuangsWorld.” The other image is a close-up of the slides, which appear to have some kind of map printed on them, which would be in keeping with the travel theme of Huang’s World.

Adidas dropped a hint about the collaboration last week on Twitter but has not provided any official details about when the sandals or sneakers will be releasing. For now, the best bet for finding out more info is to follow Huang on Instagram.
