Last month, a fan released an amazing credits sequence for a hypothetical Black Widow movie that Marvel Studios has yet to announce. Now, it’s Doctor Strange’s turn.
Unlike Black Widow, Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme is already getting his own movie, starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role and directed by Sinister’s Scott Derrickson. We know some of the big creative names involved, but we don’t yet know anything about the story or the tone of the film. Doctor Strange could be very spooky, even downright scary, but it could also be a psychedelic adventure through various astral realms.
Graphics artist and editor Alex Silver opted for the latter for this amazing credits sequence, which pulls out some of the best moments from Doctor Strange comics and sets them to the very appropriate “W.A.N.D.” by The Flaming Lips (if any band could do astral projection, it’s them). It feels like exactly the kind of thing that could close the flick and leave the entire theater feeling great, so we hope Marvel’s paying attention.
Doctor Strange opens November 4, 2016.
