Tomorrow’s the day when we get what’s likely to be the final installment of the Metal Gear Solid franchise, the much-lauded stealth series by one of gaming’s most noted auteurs, Hideo Kojima.

It seems only fitting that some fans reimagined Kojima’s vision through the eyes of another well-known auteur: film director Wes Anderson.

YouTuber Jacob Rich turned elements of Metal Gear Solid V into a parody by way of Anderson’s often-joked-about whimsical style, taking pages from films like The Grand Budapest Hotel and Moonrise Kingdom. Bonus points for the bit when Snake uses a cardboard box to hide his entrance to a picnic lunch with sniper Quiet. This is definitely a game I would play, or a movie I would watch. With Metal Gear Solid and its oft-lengthy cutscenes, it’s usually both.
