Stars, as Us magazine likes to say: They’re just like us. They even get their stuff stolen by nosy baggage handlers at airports.

That’s what happened to rapper Fat Joe at an airport in Las Vegas recently. Joe, who is undisputably one of the biggest sneakerheads in hip-hop and a legend for licking the bottom of a pair of Air Jordans on MTV Cribs, managed to score the two Air Jordan 8 sneakers released recently to celebrate Michael Jordan’s first threepeat with the Chicago Bulls. But Joe didn’t just get the standard, limited-edition pairs. His were adorned with the TS logo of his Terror Squad crew on the tongue and an image of his face on the lacelocks.

These were one of one PE (player’s edition) sneakers made just for Joe to wear during his performance of “All The Way Up” at the BET Awards.

And then they were gone.

Joe posted a picture on Instagram on Monday explaining that the black pair of Air Jordan 8s, nicknamed “Confettis,” that were part of the pack had been stolen.

“Ok look. These were mine for a couple hours. damn baggage claim stole them in Vegas. I don’t blame you they are 1of1. sorry Reggie I guess I gotta charge it to the game #teamjordan #allthewayup #ripconfettis”

To his credit, Joe seems to be taking the loss in stride. Perhaps he can console himself by licking another pair of sneakers.
