As expected, the FBI will not recommend criminal charges against Hillary Clinton for her mishandling of classified information, although FBI director James B. Comey did call her use of a personal email and server “extremely careless.” While remarks made by Comey during the FBI press conference this morning will leave a stain on Clinton and her judgment, this is nonetheless good news for her presidential campaign, which probably could still beat Donald Trump with its candidate in a high-profile federal trial, but why chance it? Clinton is campaigning with President Obama today. So, if she had been charged, that would have been really, really awkward.
