Whether you first saw her on MTV’s hit reality show The Hills—also responsible for unleashing Speidi—in the pages of countless celebrity gossip blogs or during her many other stints in film and television, you know Audrina Patridge. The model-slash-actress has enjoyed a colorful career since then and counts being the Brand Ambassador for Curve among her many accomplishments. We caught up with the sexy star to get her take on her ride to the top in this week’s Femme on Fire.

Playboy.com: You got your start in this industry almost by happenstance. Did you ever imagine this was the life you would be leading, even after The Hills became so popular?

Patridge: I never imagined I would be where I am today. The Hills was such an experience and a big part of my life during the seven hardest years growing up and trying to find myself after high school. We just had to do it on camera and everything happened so fast. I am very fortunate and blessed to be where I am today! Everything I have gone through, good and bad, I have learned from—Hollywood is a crazy life to live.

Playboy.com: What was it like to be thrust into the limelight so suddenly? Was it weird to see yourself on television and, eventually, in films?

Patridge: I really didn’t know what to think of it; it all happened so fast. I was always such a private person and then all of a sudden I was on TV and people were asking for photos. Your privacy is completely gone, especially being on a reality show, it was a big change! I had no idea what I was in for. I could not watch myself on TV for the longest time. Eventually I had to, but you critique yourself and see things you do that you never noticed before.

Playboy.com: You appeared on Dancing with the Stars with a pretty eclectic group of celebrities. David Hasselhoff, Margaret Cho, Bristol Palin. What were your experiences with some of those people like?

Patridge: DwtS was amazing! I would do it again in a second. I loved the challenges and pressures of pushing yourself to conquer your fears. Watching all that hard work come together gave me a great feeling of accomplishment. My experiences with the other celebrities were great! We all helped each other and cheered each other on. You become very close, like a little family, when you’re together seven days a week, seven hours a day for three to four months or more. After the fun starts to fade, you have each other to encourage and have fun with.

Playboy.com: You were cast in Scary Movie 5 as Christian Grey’s sex slave, but those scenes were later cut, allegedly because they were too risqué for the film’s PG-13 rating. What can you dish out about what we didn’t get to see in theaters?

Patridge: Scary Movie 5 was so much fun, especially since I had just finished reading all of Fifty Shades of Grey! In the scene we filmed, the room was filled with sex toys I never even knew existed! We were kind of in awe and, of course, laughing imagining what some of the stuff was used for. The scene was filled with everything sex related. I’m sure you can use your imagination!

Playboy.com: You worked with a very special member of the Playboy family on the SM5 shoot, Kendra Wilkinson. What was it like to experience that together?

Patridge: I absolutely love Kendra! We had the best time together. She is such an amazing mother and is so real! One night we were walking to dinner with the cast and crew and a snake slithered across the walkway right in front of us. We were jumping up and down, running and screaming. Everyone looked at us and then started laughing. That was definitely our scariest moment on set, but of course it ended with us laughing really hard.

Playboy.com: What was it like working with Jerry O’Connell in the role of Christian Grey? Even as a parody, those were pretty loaded shoes to fill.

Patridge: I’ve worked with Jerry before so I was excited to work with him again! He just makes everything so fun and comfortable! Thank God I was there because they were about to spray his hair grey on set! I was like “No! He has to have grey eyes and auburn hair!” Jerry is such an amazing actor; he really gets into it and becomes focused as soon as you hear “action”!

Playboy.com: What are some personal highlights of your career in the time since you started working in the industry?

Patridge: I have had so many! When I was on The Hills, we made the cover of Rolling Stone! You know you have made it when you’re on the cover of Rolling Stone! We were all so excited, it was surreal. I have also been able to travel the world, do some modeling, and help make a difference with some charities. I have been involved in movies and different TV shows, attended award shows, met so many amazing people. I can go on and on and on! It has been a great time with lots of memories that I will cherish.

Playboy.com: I’m sure a lot of men who’ll be reading this are crushing on you at least a little bit. What’s one thing a guy has to get right to earn your attention and why?

Patridge: Treat me with respect! When a guy is chivalrous, it will definitely get my attention! Nowadays, some men don’t seem to know how to treat a woman right.

Playboy.com: On top of being a television personality, model and actress, you’re also the brand ambassador for Curve; that must make you an expert on fragrances. What’s your best advice for a guy looking for the perfect cologne so the object of his affection really notices?

Patridge: I think all men should smell good! You have to find your go-to cologne. You always want to leave a lasting impression, especially scent-wise [laughs]. I am the ambassador for Curve and I love the scent on men. Just don’t overdo it! I would do two sprays: one on the neck and one on the chest.

Playboy.com: Here at Playboy, we’re all about indulgence, especially in terms of travel. And we know you spend a lot of your time traveling the world. What was the last, best trip you went on, and how did you make it extra extravagant?

Patridge: I went to Aruba for Electric Festival. The island and ocean were beyond beautiful; we took a boat to a private island where there were flamingos and iguanas on the beach! The sunsets were amazing, the drinks were delicious and, of course, since we were there for a music festival on the beach I had the time of my life!

Playboy.com: You seem to be in a very stable place in terms of career, family and relationship. What’s next for you?

Patridge: I took a couple years off to gather myself, work on my relationship and travel. I’m now ready to dive headfirst back into work and can’t wait. I have two very exciting gigs coming up, one which I start this October and the other next year. They are both dream jobs!

Playboy.com: What’s your…

Favorite food: This is a tough one, but it is a toss-up between Mexican and sushi.

Favorite drink: Arnold Palmer.

Worst pickup line: “If you were a door, I’d slam you all night long.”

Ultimate deal breaker: I can’t stand liars and cheaters!

Most embarrassing moment: I was on a beautiful yacht with lots of good-looking people and I got sea sick! I ran downstairs and thankfully only my brother happened to be in the way, because pineapple chunks covered him and his drink! I then locked myself in the bathroom by accident, which only made it worse! I ended up jumping in the ocean and they had to send a jet boat to come get me. So embarrassing!

Guilty pleasure: I love to change my hair. I go from light to dark, and short to long all the time; thank God for hair extensions.

First memory of Playboy: When my sister and I were six- and seven-years-old, we went to use the restroom at an office which happened to have Playboy Magazines stacked on a little table next to the toilet. We couldn’t believe what we were seeing, but of course we giggled.

Playboy: Who’s your current girl crush?

Patridge: Sofia Vergara. She is beautiful, so funny and real!

Playboy: What’s the worst place you’ve ever been taken on a date?

Patridge: I once went on a first date at a tequila bar. Didn’t end so well!

Playboy: What are your five favorite tracks right now?

Playboy.com: Let’s play a game of Kiss/Marry/Pass. Guys are David Beckham, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Robin Thicke. Girls are Anne Hathaway, Katy Perry and Kate Upton.

Patridge: Kiss: Robin Thicke and Katy Perry Marry: David Beckham and Kate Upton Pass: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Anne Hathaway
