Ferrari’s already associated with powerful sports cars, so it’s hard to believe there’s anything they could do that would push the “extreme” envelope. However their latest model does exactly that.
The Ferrari FXX K will be shown in public for the first time next weekend at the Abu Dhabi Yas Marina circuit. Like the Ferrari LaFerrari (the fastest road-legal car ever produced), the FXX K is a hybrid, but a tricked out V12 gasoline engine and electric motor allows the car to put out 1,035 horsepower (up from 949 horsepower in the standard FXX).
Ferrari says, “Unfettered by homologation and racing regulations, the FXX K will never be used in competition. It was developed to be completely uncompromising, incorporating technological innovations that will guarantee an unprecedented driving experience to the exclusive group of Client-Test Drivers with whom the Prancing Horse will roll out a test programme over the next two years.”
According to the Verge, the FXX K “produces nearly 1,200 pounds of downforce at 124 miles per hour.” And the New York Daily News says the new model is more powerful than a Formula One race car. So, yeah, it’s pretty freaking fast.

Unfortunately the FXX K is not street legal. But for a mere seven figures, you can take it for a drive on a race track. And if you don’t have $2 million laying around, you’ll be stuck in the “Look, But Don’t Touch” category.
