We’ve all seen the State Farm commercial where the guy says he’s never getting a minivan only to wind up washing one in his suburban driveway.
If you’re not quite ready to give up so easily and still need a way to transport more than one passenger around town, there’s the new 2017 Ferrari GTC4Lusso. The successor to the FF, the GTC4Lusso is Ferrari’s interpretation of what a four-seater hatchback can be, albeit one with 680 horsepower and 518 ft-lb. of torque.
You won’t be able to drift around corners in the GTC4Lusso, owing to it being the only Ferrari with four-wheel drive, but you will be able to gun it to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds and top out at 208 miles per hour, which makes a quick run to the drug store that much quicker (if you don’t factor in the time it takes to talk your way out of a speeding ticket with the cops). The handling is enhanced even further thanks to rear-wheel steering so that the GTC4Lusso could even serve as the family skimobile, although you’d need a cargo box to carry your stuff.
No pricing information was released for the GTC4Lusso, which will make its official debut at the Geneva Auto Show in March. The FF started at $295,000 so it’s a good bet that if you’re buying one of these as a grocery-getter, you probably buy some pretty fancy groceries.
