One of the scariest games of the last few years was Outlast, in which players find themselves trapped in a darkened asylum filled with murderous psychopaths and a malevolent spirit. In Outlast, you have no weapons, your only defense is to hide, and you’re forced to use a handheld camera’s night vision mode to cut through the darkness.

Today, developer Red Barrels teased Outlast 2 with the video above. Here’s the super-vague description that came with the video:

“No conflict is ever black and white. But once the dust has settled, the victors get to decide who was right and who was wrong. Who is good and who is evil. Human nature pushes us to extremes of violence and depravity, which we then justify by divine inspiration and a promise of paradise to come. Horror rises from desperation and blind faith. OUTLAST 2 will test your faith, pushing players to a place where going mad is the only sane thing to do.”

There’s not much else in the way of info about the game yet, but if Outlast is any indication, it’s going to be a gory, disturbing game full of jumpscares and male nudity used in the most cringe-inducing way.
