A co-host on some Fox News show called “The Five” said during a recent rant that younger women should be “excused” from voting in the mid-term elections so that they can “go back on Tinder and Match.com.”
Kimberly Guilfoyle went on to say that having young women on juries is not a good idea, because they “don’t get it,” and don’t have the proper life experiences such as having children and paying bills. Many older women have experienced these things, which allows them to make more informed decisions, whether it’s in a voting booth or the courtroom, according to Guilfoyle’s logic.
“They’re like healthy and hot and running around without a care in the world,” Guilfoyle said in a sweeping generalization of the at large younger female population.
So to summarize Guilfoyle’s opinion: if you are a young woman, you should be excused from the responsibilities and privieleges of helping maintain a democracy. Why? Because you’re pretty and inexperienced.
When reached for comment, my ultra-conservative father said, “I don’t know anything about that shit. I just watch O’Reilly.”
