Video game industry voice acting star Nolan North has revealed that The Last of Us is apparently getting a sequel.

North, who played a villain in developer Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us and Nathan Drake in the studio’s beloved Uncharted series, said last week during a panel at Metrocon 2015 that The Last of Us 2 (that’s a guess at its title) is in development.

North’s character in the original game met with a fairly gruesome end. He might play a different character in The Last of Us 2, but even if he isn’t, the actor’s relationship with Naughty Dog is probably close enough that he’d know about any sequel in the works. Given what a pro North is, you do have to wonder why he’d let it slip before the official announcement, but that’s beside the point.

The Last of Us, a third-person action horror game about fungus that turns people into zombies, was a huge success among players and critics alike in 2013. So North’s revelation about a sequel isn’t surprising at all. Although given what happened in the first game, one has to wonder whether there are any people left for players to viciously stab in the carotid artery.
